An Inspirational Love Story, Friends From Year One At University To Happy Ever After – Omeyimi and Idoreyin

We met in 2006 at Covenant University, we were in 100level and in the same Petroleum Engineering class. He walked up to me one day after a general class, started a conversation, and walked me to my hostel (little did I know he already liked me from afar) and soon we became fast friends.

I saw him as a best friend as he was such a great guy and very smart. I knew he liked me, but as usual, we girls tend to friendzone great guys. Lol. Fast forward to our final year, we were still good friends, but something changed, the feelings became mutual. On graduation day, he asked me to be his girlfriend, and I gladly said yes.

We basically grew up and blossomed together, and after NYSC we both went to Scotland for our master’s degrees and came back to hustle for a job in this crazy country. We’ve been each other’s backbone in the turmoil of life; through loss and wins, laughter and tears, pain and joy; we’ve been best friends for years.

In October 2019, we planned a trip to New Orleans & Miami together, little did I know he had asked my dad for my hand in marriage before we travelled, and on our last day in Miami, he popped the question in the most romantic way and I said yes.

We planned for a wedding earlier in the year but I lost my dad and then COVID happened, so the wedding was postponed. But in late June, we decided to have the wedding in spite of corona restrictions and all the obstacles that faced us. We planned for an intimate wedding, and the day was more than we could ever imagine.

The Lord brought us together to be each other’s pillar in this rosy/turbulent world, and we are lucky to have found each other and pray we’ll be best friends till we are old and grey in Jesus name. Amen.

We wish Omeyime and ID, our sensational couple from Edo and Akwa Ibom State, the very best and the most blissful marriage journey. Ibomweddings is actually a witness to this incredible love story from its inception till date. Omeyimi is such a proud Akwa Ibom Wifey. She loves her husband’s culture and language. We are so delighted to share in their joy. See more beautiful moments from their intimate and exquisite wedding held in Lagos.

Ibom Wifey for the win
